God's love is the motivating force in our curriculum. The Bible provides orientation for all subjects and learning experiences.  The curriculum of Immanuel Lutheran School are taught to meet or exceed standards for Lutheran Schools and by the State of Colorado.

  • Preschool 3’s, Preschool 4’s, and Preschool 5’s

  • AM and PM Kindergarten

  • All Day Kindergarten

  • Elementary grades 1-5

  • Middle school grades 6-8 (departmentalized)

Curriculum includes:

  • Concordia Religion series

  • Spanish for grades 1 - 8

  • Discovery Works Silver Burdett-Ginn/Concordia Edition science series K-6,

  • Prentice Hall science 7-8

  • Saxon Math K-8

  • Houghton Mifflin reading K-2, Harcourt Reading 3-5, McGraw Hill reading 6th,

  • Prentice Hall literature 7th-8th

  • MacMillan/McGraw Hill English/grammar 1-6, Silver Burdett English 7-8

  • A Beka Book Christian health series 2-8

  • Spelling: Houghton Mifflin 1-5

  • Spelling: Scott Foresman 6-8

  • Modern Curriculum Press phonics K-3

  • MacMillan social studies 1-6, Prentice Hall 7-8

  • Curriculum is reviewed on a five year cycle.
  • Music class twice a week through grade 5, choir class once a week through grade 5

  • Art and PE taught by classroom teacher

  • Testing program is the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) administered in the winter

  • Immanuel is fully accredited by the National Lutheran Schools Accreditation and North Central Accreditation.

  • Middle school departmentalization offers a variety of special classes for first period including yearbook/journalism, drama, Spanish, bells, band, technology, speech, leadership and cooking

  • Band is offered beginning in fifth grade.

  • Volleyball, basketball, and soccer begin in fifth grade.

  • Track begins in sixth grade.

Iowa Test of Basic Skills 2006-2007 Results

All students in grades 2-8 were administered the ITBS in February 2007.  School results are as follows:

Science is Tops at Immanuel                                             (but the rest aren’t far behind)

On the Iowa Test of Basic Skills in 2007, Immanuel Lutheran School students scored at the 95th percentile in science.  This means that only 5% of all schools in the nation scored higher than Immanuel in science.  Immanuel's composite score was the 94.3 %ile, which places Immanuel in the top 5 percent of all schools nationally.  Since Immanuel has no academic entrance requirements, students are not screened for their academic ability and achievement.  Immanuel's students perform well because of their desire to learn, parental support, and our teachers' commitment to excellence for each student. 

In all classes, Immanuel students placed two to three grade levels above the average student in their grade.

Immanuel Lutheran School is an important option for parents seeking as alternative to secular education and is committed to equipping students with a Christian perspective which enables them to understand and soar above the pressures of the secular culture.
